Resilient Adds Google Authenticator to Its Network

We are happy to announce that we’ve added Google Authenticator to our menu of pre-integrated authentication methods. You can now include this widely used method when creating adaptive access policies to protect your documents and apps.

Google Authenticator is based on a Time-based One-Time Password (TOTP) that is generated by the Google Authenticator app (Android or iOS). Before a protected document can be accessed the recipient must first enter a 6-digit code that is updated every 30 seconds.

To add Google Authenticator to a policy all you need to do is drag and drop two authorities to the policy area of the Resilient Administration Console.

The first authority, Google Authenticator Provisioning, is part of the registration flow and provisions the service and the user account by displaying a QR code. Then, user needs to put their Google Authenticator app in ‘Scan Barcode’ mode and scan the QR code to create the account in their app.

The second authority is Google Authenticator that will, as described above, prompt the user to enter a 6-digit code corresponding to the provisioned account the user is attempting to authenticate into.
