DataExpress – Adapting to changing markets and workplace environments

We are part of a bigger corporation, one that is publically traded. We have moved, upgraded and in general, created a whole new NonStop environment for development, testing, delivery and support. As a small vendor that is now part of a much bigger company there are a lot of advantages for DataExpress and its customers as we now have people looking after us in ways that simply that weren’t possible when we were operating independently!

DataExpress – An Update from an HPE Partner …

With any business plan that is drawn up at the start of the year there is always a considerable amount of “wiggle room” included. Working with HPE NonStop, history has taught us to be prepared for surprises down the road and indeed, when HPE announced NonStop would become a collection of virtual machines and that the transformation of NonStop to a pure software play would be achieved sooner rather than later, of course the NonStop vendor community was required to rethink and adjust its plans.

DataExpress – As a product and as a service; all options being explored in 2020

DataExpress – taking security knowledge to a bigger play at Data443

Looking back on 2019 it would be safe to say it was a year of dramatic changes for DataExpress. Being acquired was one thing but joining an organization focused as solidly as Data443 is on security represents an opportunity to build on what we have learnt to date. As the year came to a close, Data443 began trading with its new symbol – ATDS: All Things Data Security.

DataExpress: Observations and requests following TBC 2019

It was a packed house for the opening keynote at this year’s HPE NonStop Technical Boot Camp (TBC). Held once again at the Hyatt Regency in Burlingame, California, it proved to be a visible reinforcement of the popularity of HPE NonStop systems. At a time when so much attention is being given to the importance of data it’s good to know that it is this community that is running mission critical applications on NonStop where data is created. It’s also a time when the NonStop community hears firsthand of how many industries are being served by NonStop, but perhaps best of all, it proved to be a time when 100+ attendees stood up to let us all know that they were first time participants. For many who have been present at NonStop events through the decades it was a reminder of ITUG Summits of years past.

DataExpress: acquisition by Data443 brings benefits to customers

The world of IT is always changing and acquisitions are a fact of business life today. Security – even as demands evolve, DataExpress meets the challenges that arise!

Security affects all vendors in many ways and it is perhaps the most talked about priority amongst the biggest enterprises on the planet. It’s good to know how serious these enterprises are treating security in its many guises – privacy, protection, compliance, integrity, etc. – and that the exchanges between enterprises and vendors represent an never-ending loop of requirements creation and product development. However, there are times when the need to keep secret how a vendor’s product has been deployed and put to use not only hides specifics from that vendor but also can marginalize the effectiveness of requirements exchanges where information provided may not fully qualify the opportunity.

NONSTOP – KEEPING OUR DATA SAFE!

Those of us living in the Northern Hemisphere are living through the dog days of summer fully aware that fall is just around the corner. Indeed, the further north you travel, the more inclined you will be to look for the initial sighting of fall colors, as the leaves begin to turn. With the coming of fall, there are two major events for the NonStop community – the NonStop Partner Symposium for the NonStop vendor community, followed by the NonStop Technical Boot Camp (TBC) that is open to every member of the NonStop community. As an indication what a theme will be at these events look at the many recent publications of the hacks of enterprise data centers! The theme is clearly going to include many discussions and presentations on the topic of security.

FOR NONSTOP COMMUNITY, DATAEXPRESS SUPPORT OF OPEN PLATFORMS OPENS DOORS TO GREATER INTEGRATION IN HYBRID IT

Coming as soon as it did after HPE Discover 2019, the N2TUG RUG event in Grapevine, Texas, gave the NonStop community the opportunity to hear first-hand about recent announcements made by HPE. Numerous presenters at N2TUG had attended HPE Discover 2019 and some of the feedback not only has some scratching their heads, as we recently suggested, but also has them rethinking their product portfolios. Could the news coming from HPE that is focused on Hybrid IT come to fruition, does this open the doors to greater opportunities for them?

CLOUDLESS SKIES ARE BEING PREDICTED, BUT FOR DATAEXPRESS IT DOESN’T MATTER – FILES STILL NEED TO BE MOVED!

There was a lot of information provided at this year’s HPE Discover event. While the event wrapped up some time ago, for the NonStop vendor community there were numerous topics that aroused our interest and of course, as best as we can determine at this time, there were some interesting developments for the NonStop community as the HPE team unveiled a working NonStop system running at the edge on an Edgeline 4000. Whether this demo develops into a product line or not remains to be seen, but initial feedback suggests any go to market plan of HPE will see such a product addressing markets left mostly underserved.
